• Important Notice: To improve the candidate experience, CBDCE will be moving to a new application platform in early 2024. Because of that:

    • There is currently an application blackout period from 2/9/2024 to 2/27/2024. This means that individuals cannot apply for the CDCES exam.

    • There is currently a scheduling or testing blackout period from 2/19/2024 to 2/27/2024.

    • Please keep this in mind for when you want to apply, schedule, and take your CDCES exam.

    • Applications, scheduling, and testing will resume 3/1/2024.

  • The 2023 CE LATE Window window online renewal application closed on December 31, 2023. If you missed the deadline and met the renewal requirements as of 12/31/23 you can apply via our Grace Period Option Application until 3/31/24. This option requires a paper application and CE support documents. Visit the renewal webpage for the application.

  • The 2024 scholarship application window will open in mid-March, 2024. Learn more here.

  • November 2023 Update: To address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the ability of health professionals pursuing the CDCES credential to accrue practice experience in diabetes care and education (DCE), the CBDCE Board of Directors has approved moving the temporary changes to the professional practice requirement relating to DCE for initial certification to permanent state.  Learn more about what changed in our Pandemic Impact Certification Statement.
