The ADCES/CBDCE Fellowship supports early career scientists as they launch their career. Current and past fellows are active in the diabetes care and education research community. The 2024 CDCES Scholarship Program application window will open mid-March 2024. CBDCE established the scholarship program to support the journey for health professionals in the specialty and to encourage diversity in the pool of health professionals holding the CDCES credential. Learn more.
2023: To address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the ability of health professionals pursuing the CDCES credential to accrue practice experience in diabetes care and education (DCE), the CBDCE Board of Directors has approved an extension of the temporary changes to the professional practice requirement relating to DCE for initial certification. The CDCES credential is held by registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, registered dietitian nutritionists, pharmacists, physicians, PAs, and other health professionals on the diabetes care and education team.
Certification Renewal
The 2023 CDCES renewal by CE extended window is open through October 15.
Each quarter CBDCE will spotlight a current CDCES to acknowledge and promote the value of being a CDCES.
