CBDCE Announces New Officers Elected to 2025 BOD

(Schaumburg, IL – January 2025) – The Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education has announced its newly elected officers, who began their term of service on January 1, 2025.

Joanne Rinker

Joanne Rinker, MS, RDN, CDCES®, BC-ADM®, LDN, FADCES, has been elected 2025 Chair-Elect. She is a Director of Medical and Scientific Engagement at MannKind, a Master's-level dietitian, and a registered dietitian and CDCES for over 20 years. Joanne has served in various volunteer and leadership roles within CBDCE, including serving on the CBDCE Board of Directors starting in 2024 and as a member of the CBDCE’s Examination Committee. She will serve as CBDCE Chair in 2026.

Dana Brackney

Dana Brackney, PhD, RN, CNS, CDCES, BC-ADM, has been elected to serve as the 2025 Treasurer. She is a Professor and Graduate Program Director for the Department of Nursing at Beaver College of Health Sciences, Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Dana has served in various volunteer and leadership roles within CBDCE, including on the CBDCE Board of Directors since 2022.

Along with the newly elected 2025 officers, Nancy D’Hondt, RPh, CDCES, FADCES, officially began her one-year term as 2025 CBDCE Chair on January 1, 2025. The elected 2025 CBDCE leadership will work closely with the CBDCE staff and committees to support the certification board and play an essential role in continuing the efforts outlined in the CBDCE 2025-2027 strategic plan.
