BC-ADM Scholarship Program Overview
Supporting health professionals pursuing the BC-ADM credential
CBDCE has established a scholarship program to support the journey of health professionals seeking to achieve the Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certification.
Scholarship recipients receive the opportunity to take the BC-ADM practice examination and apply for the Certification Examination for Advanced Diabetes Management one time at no cost. The current value of the scholarship is $660.
Depending on the number of applications received, 3–5 scholarships are anticipated to be awarded for the December exam window.
Scholarship recipients must meet all current eligibility requirements for initial BC-ADM certification at the time they apply for the examination. Receiving a scholarship does not change or waive any certification eligibility requirements.

Scholarship Program Overview
The BC-ADM Scholarship Program supports health professionals pursuing the Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certification.
Depending on the number of applications received, 3–5 scholarships may be awarded for each exam window.
Each scholarship provides an opportunity to:

Take the BC-ADM practice examination at no cost.

Apply for the BC-ADM certification one time at no cost.

Use the award for the designated examination window.
The current scholarship value is $660. Awards are provided to the scholarship recipient through a voucher and/or discount code. Cash is not awarded, and scholarships are not transferable between individuals or between CBDCE certification programs.
Please note:
A scholarship award does not change the eligibility requirements for initial BC-ADM certification. Scholarship recipients must meet all current eligibility requirements when applying for the certification examination.
Prepare to Apply
Before beginning the scholarship application, make sure you have the required information and documents ready.
Applicants should be prepared to provide:

Curriculum vitae/resume

Proof of qualifying license or registration

Proof of an advanced degree

Letter of recommendation from a supervisor or colleague
Your letter of recommendation should identify:

Your relationship to the recommender.
-
How the recommender sees you applying achievement of the BC-ADM certification to your personal and/or professional goals.
Application Questions
You'll also be asked to answer two questions, with a maximum of 150 words for each response:

What are your career goals and how will obtaining the BC-ADM credential help you to achieve them?

What experiences in your life or career have been influential in your chosen goal choice?
Having your documents and responses prepared in advance can help you complete the application more quickly. The application estimates that it takes 20 minutes or less when materials and responses are ready.

Review the current BC-ADM Examination Handbook and eligibility requirements before submitting your scholarship application.
Apply
Applications for the BC-ADM Scholarship Program are accepted during the designated application period for each award year.
For the 2026 scholarship program:
Applications were accepted March 1–May 15, 2026.
After You Apply:
Once submitted, applications are reviewed by CBDCE staff. A CBDCE committee reviews the applications and makes recommendations to the CBDCE Board of Directors. Applicants will be contacted regarding the outcome of their application and, if selected, will receive information about the next steps for using their scholarship award.
